Colonels in the US armed forces are often referred to as “full birds” for the silver eagle insignia they receive upon ascending to the rank. It is with profound sorrow, we announce the loss of our family’s full bird as he earns his second set of wings. Instead of remaining our personal hero, Richard has been called to bring his spirit of duty, kindness, and love to a new mission as a guardian angel in Heaven.

*Update as of March 31* Rich’s interment at Arlington National Cemetery is scheduled for July 8, 2022 at 1245 with the service starting at the Old Post Chapel, located on Ft. Myer, followed by a procession to the final resting place.
Following the services, there will also be a reception to Celebration of Life reception in Rich's honor. The reception will be held at at the hotel where room blocks will be offered. Please click here to check the families website for updated information.
